A diagnosis made by an appropriately qualified GMC-registered specialist following recognised clinical guidance is a clinical diagnosis. However, an NHS service or GP may review the report before acting on it, and taking over prescribing remains at your GP’s discretion. For employment, a diagnostic report may also provide evidence when discussing appropriate workplace adjustments.
